Here's some pictures from my very first craft fair/boutique Saturday (June 27th).

Getting all the items to the craft fair.

There I am! I look so tiredly nervous!

A cute picture of Riley and Gracie at my booth.

It was a pretty slow day.. but a great experience for a first time craft fair.
I'm really glad Jessica (from vinylvinyleverywhere.com) invited me, thanks Jessica!
I was able to meet some really fun people and see what they enjoy creating in their free time.. look out Farmers Market and wholesale adventure, here I come!

Here's a post about Father's day... about a week late, but here it is!
I went to Cedar to hang out with my dad and brother the Saturday before Father's Day but forgot to take some pictures... Here's a pic me and dad like two years ago.

On Sunday, Riley and I went to Pine Valley to spend time with his family.. we had some really great food and great times like always.. here's some pics:

This is what happens when the beagles go for rides.
They take over. Jack lies on the middle console and Scout lies on Jack.

Everyone after dinner, lounging around.

Alec, Jordan, Riley and Kaitlin playing some weird game that I still don't understand.

Emi, Riley's nice, being super cute.

Yay! I am so excited to be attending this craft fair, and I wanted to post it so any one who wants to attend can. Please pass the word along, and if you are a crafty person yourself, let me know if you have items you want to display... I'll get you to the right person!

SO...
Someone needs to teach me how to SEW!! I keep coming up with wonderful ideas in my head, and attempt to create them.. and I get SO frustrated because I can't SEW.

This is how far I've gotten.
I can pick out fabric, cut out shapes, and iron the shapes on but that's as far as I can get..
I've already destroyed a few little shirts and onesies trying to practice.
All I'm trying to do is sew some type of attractive stitch around my birdies so they'll stay on!
Anyone have suggestions?

Anyways.. enough boring sewing ranting.

I made a display for my earrings that I've made lately.
I was invited to a little craft fair/boutique at the end of this month.. so I've been busy trying to figure out what people usually do to set up their tables.

Here's one of my earring displays:

It's pretty simple, but it gets the job done.

There's not much else going on. Both Riley and I have just been working, lots.
He works in the home theater department now, and I've been bumped up a position to the operations senior.

He's been thinking of starting a graphic design/tshirt company.. I think that would be really exciting!!

I finally got to meet my Big Brother, Big Sister little sister.
Her name is Anahe (Anna). I'll get a picture posted of me and her as soon as I have one.
She's a really sweet 7 year old who loves macaroni and cheese and the color pink!
I've agreed to meet with her once a week for at least a year..
I think the program is amazing, and hopefully I'm able to be someone she can turn to if she needs some body.

That's all for now, I haven't posted anything for a while, so I figured I'd better.

Approx. 2 hours before our walk outside...

Right after our walk outside...

Honey(s) we're home!!!

-P.s. I borrowed these first 3 photos from online, just so you can have a visual description of our vacation.-

We decided to come back one day early so we have some time to just hang out and relax, but we had a really fun trip minus all the driving in the car (about 22 hours!).

We didn't take very many pictures, but here's some of the good ones...

Sat. May 23
Sasquatch Festival

Mon. May 25
Twin Falls, Idaho

We were able to see lots and lots of random crops and cows.
We also stayed in some pretty interesting places, which included sleeping in our car one night.. we were so tired!
We also found some really yummy resturants, a Idaho-ian Cafe Rio and my favorite new bagel place.. Molly's.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!

Hello.
I haven't put a post on here for a while, so here's how the last little while has been.

Last Thursday, Riley & I went to Las Vegas for an HP/Intel/work related event and got to see Star Trek opening night with some of the guys we work with.
I had to be talked into going, but in the end, we all had a good time and the movie was actually pretty good!

We had a nice mother's day Sunday.. hope our mother's did as well!
We spent the day at Riley's parent's house and had a yummy outside dinner with his family.
I don't have any pictures of the actual day though.. sad.

However, we were able to get some really cute pictures of Emi, Chrissy & Jared for Emi's upcoming 2nd birthday.
Riley hasn't actully edited those pictures yet.. I was just messing around on my picture editing program..but here's a sneak peek:

The Shakespeares
Cute Family

Emi

Silly Girl

I thought I'd share with every one who isn't able to see our backyard jungle.
We are in desperate need of a horse, or goat, or just a standard lawn mower!

Riley and Jack
Can you see them?

Also, for those of you that are curious, I've added more items to my online shop.
My website address is www.avanilayne.etsy.com.

Stop by and check it out!

Here's a banner I made for my online shop! How exciting..
Alec Bracken

I wanted to post some of the most recent pictures Riley has taken.

He does a REALLY good job..

He hasn't actually photoshop'd them..
I was just messing around in a simple photo-editing program-- he does a lot better job.

These pictures are of his younger brother, Alec, for his high school graduation.
And Alec, congrats on your acceptance to B.Y.U!!

What do you think?
School's Out
School is out!! Almost. I only have 1 final and 1 final project due. YAY!
To celebrate, I went to lunch with myself today... mmmmm..
strawberry + spinach poppy seed salad from 25 Main.

-reason enough to live in St. George, UT-

Pre
tty!
.
I've also been working on making pieces of jewelry that I'm going to sell online.
I've started with the easy pieces (rings and earrings).. I'll let everyone know when my site is open.
If you're looking for something that will suck you in, check out www.etsy.com.
It's the coolest handmade website.
I'm addicted.

Our Projects
For our class together, Riley and I had to make something that demonstrates the happiest day of our lives.. of course we picked our wedding.
Our actual projects had to 'express the feelings, with out being literal..' I'm still trying to post them.. they keep showing up in weird, random colors.

We should have designed our own invites!
[I made this when I was messing around]

Our Bird House

Riley's working.. and since I feel like I'm free from school and work, I went shopping for a bird house.. I've wanted one since we've moved in.
The one I picked out was plain white, but I added some stuff to it to make it fit in outside. I'm happy with it.
(If you know any little brown feathery birds that are looking for a home, I've got one available!!)

Our Brave Birdie
Also, while I was putting it outside, I thought I was almost about to get eaten alive by the sweetest looking hummingbird. If I wasn't scared of it, it probably would have sat on my hand. It was the bravest little thing I've seen.
He was probably wondering why I didn't put up a hummingbird feeder, instead of a boring wood house.

Our Creepy Guy

And for the creepy backyard inhabitant.. here he is. I couldn't decide if he wanted to try to eat me as well, or if Scout would eat him but he ran right by her and she didn't even notice.
I was safe + he was safe.. here's a picture I got as I slowly inched towards him. I didn't want to get jumped on!!!

Our New Tree
-A pretty gift we got from my mom when we bought our house-

How pretty.. it has leaves now!
Blah. Another day off spent doing homework.
The good news...We're almost done with this semester!!
The bad news...I signed up for Fall classes today & Riley will tomorrow.

Jack and Scout got a bath today. I would have taken pictures, but my camera battery is dead. They found some awful smelling something outside and rolled in it.. and stunk up the whole house! After loads of room spray, it still smelled bad. The only thing left to do was throw them in the tub.

No other exciting news. Riley took his brother Alec's graduation pictures. I'll post some when he's finished editing them and choosing his favorites.

That's all for now!

P.s. Here's something to look at since there's no pics on this one..
My most recent photoshop/indesign assignment. It'd be better if I actually knew how to use the programs.
I figured I'd write something since we haven't posted for about a week.
Today I realized that I am a good dreamer and thinker.. but lazy cleaner, student and worker.. so I'm up still, 1:18 a.m. doing HOMEWORK to make up for my realization.
Here's an assignment I just finished for my visual design class...

That's all for now! Better get back to working on daydreaming my new business plans...
I've morally debated (with myself) whether or not I should post this...
All I have to say for myself was, it was anything but my idea!

(My shorts + mullet + random stuffing object + inlaws... not a good combo!)

(Luckily, it didn't stay that way!! Riley's needed a haircut for quite some time... I didn't realize what I'd been asking for!)
Chrissy and Riley's 'Annual' B-day Party
was last night @ our house.
It was lots of fun!

Jim, Marge, Steve and Emi enjoying some yummy BBQ hamburgers.

Ha.
Baby Jack and Baby Emi had to help Riley and Chrissy blow out all those candles!
Happy 23rd (late) birthday to Riley + Happy 24th (early) birthday to Aunt Chrissy!

Kind of a random pic but it's hard to get everyone all together looking the same way anyway!

Burton and Jordan...
what happy faces!

Hopefully every body enjoyed themselves at the dual bday party this year...
It was so exciting to cram every body (and all the delicious food they brought) into our little house for the first time!

Oh yeah, here's a pic of the snazzy BBQ grill who now adds charm to our backyard:

Riley loves it!
